WELCOME to the Beach Peach Program at Nexus Health and Training.
This is the program that will help you build a “Beach Peach”, just in time to visit the “Peach Beach”.
This program was specifically designed with glute training in mind. Whether you want to simply develop your glutes, improve your squat or deadlift, jump higher, sprint or skate faster, this program will help more than you would believe.
Many people neglect glute training because they believe that "they hit glutes enough with squats" or “already have strong glutes”, or some other reason entirely. But many people miss out on the insane benefits that powerful glutes can provide. And honestly, you probably don’t have the strong glutes that you think you do. No offence. But we’ll get you there!
So to start off with, what are the glutes? And why are they important?
Glutes are the group of muscles that make up the human derriere, the backside, the bum, or the rump. Or, as we like to say here at Nexus, the Peach. There are three main parts to the glutes:
Additionally, they are super important for bodybuilding competitions, and are the most neglected area of training in bodybuilding because people think they are already hitting glutes with other movements!
Most people just think of Gluteus Maximus when they think of the glute muscles. And this is fair, because the Glute Max is the biggest muscle in the group, and it is the real driver of power at the hip. You can really feel the Glute Max fire when you are training it. It generates a huge amount of force in hip extension (thigh pushing back behind the body). Additionally, it is the greatest external rotator (or lateral rotator) of the leg, meaning it drives the motion of turning your foot outward.
But the Glute Med and Glute Min are also important, and they are often ignored! Both of these muscles help to abduct the thigh (bring it closer to the centre line of the body), and they are internal rotators (turn the foot inwards) the leg (or medial rotators).
And while these are the focus areas of this program, there will be work done on some other muscles as well. Obviously the Quadriceps and Hamstring groups will be trained. But other critical lower body muscles such as: the illiacus, the psoas, piriformis, quadratus femoris, and superior and inferior gemelli!
Well, the good news for you is, Nexus Health and Training is here for you, and we are going to guide you through all of this madness!
We’ll walk you through eight (8) weeks of gluteal-focused training that we are confident will get you off to a great start into the world of glute training.
