About - Development Camps
Nexus Development Camp's mission statement is dedicated to offering a group camp environment tailored to the needs of young athletes. Our central objective is to assist these athletes in cultivating their hockey foundations while instilling a strong appreciation and Passion for the environment and imparting valuable life skills. In the process, participants will have the opportunity to establish new friendships. We actively promote and foster a culture of healthy competition, teamwork, and leadership. Learn how to Win and learn how to lose.
Our camps operate in a team small group settings, ensuring personalized attention and a tight-knit community. To provide a holistic development experience, we integrate hockey training with a variety of other sports and activities, including rock climbing, team building exercises, strength and conditioning workouts, mini golf, and outdoor ice rink activities. This diverse approach to development is designed to nurture well-rounded athletes and individuals who are not only skilled in hockey but also possess essential life skills.

SKATING TREADMILL
FIVE - Skating treadmill sessions throughout the week. These sessions are designed to help athletes build a more complete linear skating foundation. Focus - Optimal Stride Length | Balance | Blade Angle | Pace

TEAM BUILDING CHALLENGE
TEN - Through each week we incorporate different team / individual challenges to help athletes work on communication | Trust | Patience | Fine Motor Skills | Etc. Minute to Win it!

HOCKEY IQ EDUCATION
TWO - New this summer is our hockey IQ element. We have designed an interactive hockey education piece to help players learn an offensive hockey situation and defensive situation.

NEW - Water Events
ONE - Each Week we like to introduce a water event afternoon. This can include our famous slip and slide kick ball, Obstacle Course, etc.

FITNESS SESSIONS
TEN - Our Fitness is designed to help our young athletes gain a passion towards the concept. Gamified strength and conditioning. Focus - Hand Eye Coordination | Conditioning | Quick Feet | Functional Strength.

ROCK CLIMBING
THREE + - We offer multiple rock climbing challenges throughout each week. Each day we have a different focus on the rock wall and can be completed on all 3 of our different rock wall options

ON ICE SKILL SESSIONS
FIVE - On ice complete skill sessions each week. We focus on building a hockey skill foundation. Sessions are designed based on age and ability.

FOUR - we introduce the foundation of 4 additional sports throughout the week. Soccer | Football | Ultimate Frisbee | Handball. First we learn the skills associated to the sport. Second compete against another team

MINI STICK TOURNAMENT
ONE - Our mini stick event runs all week long. Each team will play against each other twice.
