ON ICE DEVELOPMENT

Our offseason development skates are designed to provide a purposeful while challenging environment for players to compete and improve as a group. This will help players develop their skills in a group setting while also fostering a sense of camaraderie and healthy high competition.
Part 1 | Introduction to a skill foundation teach - ex. how to improve short burst acceleration.
Part 2 | Based on position - Controlled appropriate situations. Improving situational awareness.
Part 3 | Game Implementation - Compete scenario drills with variable change. Flow, battle, scrimmage, etc.


SKILL INTRODUCTION.
STAGE 1.
Each week we introduce a new skill or concept into our development skate. This is completed building the foundation in which is required to be successful within this area.
Small area skill | Small group skill | Tight area

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.
STAGE 2.
We complete small area controlled situational teaches. We utilize the improved foundation skill and base the second progression around understanding how to utilize these in game situation.

GAME IMPLEMENTATION.
STAGE 3.
COMPETE. This progression is designed to ensure players understand the situation and how to adjust based on variable change. Focus is to ensure players, play hockey. Game implementation.
